#LTEN2024: Reimagining Your Annual Conference Experience

DIRECTIONS – By Lauren Harbert

This year’s conference includes deep dives, chatbots and stepping up

Hello LTEN community and happy June! As the days are getting longer and brighter, so does our excitement for the 2024 LTEN Annual Conference!

We’re eagerly preparing to welcome you to this year’s gathering of life sciences training professionals, where we’re pulling out all the stops to ensure a memorable and enriching experience. Whether it’s your first time or you’re are turning attendee, you’ll find a community ready to connect, learn and celebrate with you.

This year, we’re bringing together innovative learning opportunities, networking events and activities to foster collaboration and personal growth onsite. I’ve shared a few details in columns leading up to this month, and here’s a final peek behind the curtain at what awaits you at this year’s conference.

Innovative Learning Formats:

Dive into dynamic workshop sessions and interactive labs that will hone your practical skills and knowledge of instructional design, career and leadership development, and (new this year!) well-being, community and culture within the life sciences sector.

Plus, don’t miss our new “bring your own device” workshops, where you can use your own technology to engage with expert trainers and gain hands-on experience in real time.

Walking Tours:

I hope you’ll join us as we kick off the conference on Monday afternoon with guided and self-guided walking tours – your choice! This is a perfect opportunity to explore the conference space and hear more about the many opportunities, programs and networking activities this year.

You might even get a few insider tips!

LTEN ‘Step Up Challenge’:

New this year, engage in some friendly competition and keep active with our new walking challenge using the Heka Wellness app. Track your steps and participate in challenges to win prizes while you learn.

BrainyBot:

Have questions about the conference? Ask BrainyBot, our newly developed chatbot, ready to assist you with any inquiries about the conference schedule, session details and more.

Networking and Charity Event:

Join us on Tuesday, June 11, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. local time for our community-building charity event and networking happy hour, filled with games, food and drinks. It’s a fun and meaningful way to network while supporting this year’s cause – Ronald McDonald House Charities.

The 10th Annual LTEN Excellence Awards:

This year, we are excited to introduce new award categories to recognize the evolving talents and achievements in our field. You can join us on Wednesday, June 12, for the awards ceremony, but the learning starts sooner.

You can get an inside look at the exceptional work of our award finalists by attending their poster presentations in the Learning Labs on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, before we celebrate and honor the innovation and dedication of these legends of training and development. Be sure to check them out!

AI Day:

Finally, we’re wrapping up this trailblazing event in style, with a deep dive into one of the most important training tools available today:  artificial intelligence (AI). Whether you’re using ChatGPT to help prepare test questions or relying more deeply on tech-enabled support, there’s a lot to learn, consider and prepare for as we level up life sciences training.

The final day of #LTEN2024 will be devoted to AI, with keynote speakers, a panel discussion and opportunities for hands-on, active learning from and with industry-leading experts. This deep dive alone is going to be invaluable.
