CMR Institute’s Board of Directors announces President and CEO retirement and appointment of new President and CEO

Roanoke, VA, May 16, 2024 – CMR Institute’s Board of Directors announced today that Michelle O’Connor will retire from her role as President and CEO as of June 30, 2024 after a remarkable 31-year tenure with the Institute.   The Board of Directors also announced Sharon Lustig’s appointment to the role of President and CEO, effective July 1, 2024.

On her decision to retire, Ms. O’Connor shared, “It’s been a privilege to have had such a rewarding career with a company that I love. My journey with CMR Institute has been filled with the opportunity to do great things with wonderful people, especially the dedicated team at CMR and our Board of Directors. While I will greatly miss my colleagues, I’m confident that under Sharon’s leadership, CMR Institute will continue to grow, innovate, and fulfill our educational mission for many years to come.”

The Board of Directors is pleased to welcome Sharon Lustig, currently Senior Vice President, who brings more than 20 years of experience with CMR Institute to her new role. During her tenure at CMR, Ms. Lustig led the Institute’s program and account management, marketing, client development, and technology teams and has been instrumental in increasing CMR’s abilities to support its clients in achieving their goals. Her client-focused approach to content and program development, support services, and innovative technologies has increased the Institute’s reach and facilitated growth of its mission. Over her more than two decades of work, she has worked closely with both Ms. O’Connor and the Board of Directors and is well-equipped to lead the Institute and support its customers.
